IGNITION GRANTS
At Underland, we believe in the transformative power of creativity and community. We’re excited to introduce a new funding initiative designed to nurture innovative ideas and communal activities among all participants. Open to everyone at Underland, these grants aim to kickstart projects that enhance our collective experience, create lasting memories, and establish new traditions.
From quirky activities that promote inclusion and fun, to theatrical performances that forge connections, and food-based services that delight the senses, the scope for creativity is boundless. We’re eager to support projects that not only entertain but also foster community, build lasting memories, and provide unique services that uplift and inspire.
This initiative is your invitation to think creatively, engage actively, and contribute uniquely. Together, let’s create an experience that transforms Underland into more than just an event, but a transformative journey for all involved.

Anyone attending Underland can apply for an Ignition Community Grant to bring their idea to life.
Whether you’re an individual, a group of friends or a fully Registered Theme Camp we encourage all creative contributions that aim to enhance the Underland experience.
Projects can range from unique community engagements, friendly food offerings, interactive experiences, to performances.

Evaluation Criteria
We're looking for projects that do more than just look good – they should actively involve and resonate with a wide audience, creating memorable and transformative experiences.
Applications will be evaluated based on:
Uniqueness/Novelty: The project should aim to be unique to the paddock, not just replicate existing activities with minor changes. Priority is given to new or novel ideas over repeated or recurring themes.
Feasibility: The project must be realistically achievable within the scope of the grant and event timelines.
Variety: We encourage proposals that bring variety to the event, differing not only in type, but also in scale and scope.
Impact and Engagement: The ultimate goal of each project should be to make an impact on the community and actively engage as many participants as possible. Projects should foster interaction, build community ties, and enhance the overall experience of Underland.
Leave No Trace
All grant recipients must adhere to Underland's Leave No Trace principles. Failure to comply may affect future funding eligibility and could result in the withholding of a portion of the granted funds.
