Every year, the Effigy and Temple stand at the heart of Underland.
They’re the biggest collaborative artworks we create together, raised from the paddock by a team of makers, dreamers, and doers.
These builds don’t just happen.
They’re imagined, designed, engineered and built by people like you, the members of our community who want to leave a mark on the event in the most unforgettable way possible.
Get Involved:
We’re now calling for creative teams to design and build the Effigy and Temple for our next Underland.
You don’t need to be a professional artist, just someone with a solid concept, the willingness to collaborate, and a drive to see it come to life.

You’ll work with our Burnable Art Department and event teams to bring your idea from concept to reality.

Because there’s nothing quite like it.
Creating something from nothing, watching it rise, and then letting it go - it’s a shared act of impermanence, pride, and community.
You’ll meet incredible people.
You’ll learn new skills.
You’ll leave a mark that will live in the memories of everyone who was there to see it burn.
